The Zero to Hero fast track sailing course is developed for people who wish to become a recreational sailing yacht skipper and qualify for chartering and handling big cruising boats and bareboat cruising on their own.
This course is for beginners and provide level of competence that someone needs to act as skipper on a sailing yacht of approximately 30 to 78 feet during a multi-day cruise upon inland or coastal waters in moderate to heavy winds (up to 30 knots) and sea conditions.
Upon completion of the course candidate should be able to demonstrate knowledge of provisioning, galley operations, boat systems, auxiliary engine operations, routine maintenance procedures, advanced sail trim, coastal navigation including basic chart plotting and GPS operation, multiple anchor mooring, health & safety, emergency operations, weather interpretation including knowledge of navigation rules to avoid collisions and hazards.
This knowledge will be validate by an exam at the end of the trip and certified with the International Bareboat Skipper license.
This profound program to International Bareboat Skipper is a practical and professionally run course. It comprises of 12 sailing days and 12 nights on board. You will be sailing in coastal waters during the day making small hops and learning advanced sail trim, coastal navigation and practicing multiple-anchor moorings. Nights will be spent in comfortable picturesque bays.
At the end of this bareboat charter certification course, you will have mid-sized sailboat experience, with sufficient knowledge and skills to operate a sailboat as a skipper.
Our cruising monohull will become your home and classroom for the next 12 days. With a maximum of 2 students at the same time, everyone will enjoy a private cabin onboard.
You don't need any sailing pre-experience neither assumed knowledge to take this course. Candidate has to be minimum 18 years old and physically fit.
The course duration is 12 days and the price is 3500 euros per student.
This price includes the Zero to Hero class and cover all the fees for liveaboard during these 12 days: nights in a private cabin, all meals, fuel, etc... No alcohol is provided.
After successful completion of the course, you will be qualified to charter and skipper sailing vessels up to 24 meters, 20 nautical miles from the shore, The issued document is the International Bareboat Skipper. You will also score around 200 nm sailing during the course, this mileage will be certified with a personal log book for each student.
Not included: personal insurance, license (175 euros, to be paid upon successful completion of the course).
This course cover all the notions included in the Competent Crew Class, the Watchleader Class and the Bareboat Skipper Class.
